10 Controversial Search Engine Optimization Techniques

10:36 AM

(1) Comments

In this article I discuss ten controversial search engine optimization techniques that should be used with caution, or even avoided altogether.

1. Duplicate Pages
In general, search engines ignore duplicate pages. In extreme cases, they may ban a site.

2. Invisible Text
Search engines consider the use of text that is the same color as the background color as spam. So stay clear of using invisible text

3. Keywords In Comment Tags
Hardly any, if any, of the major search engines index comment tags, so don't waste time adding them for optimization purposes.

4. Keywords In Hidden Value Tags
Keywords in hidden value tags are considered spam by all of the major search engines, so don't waste time with this practice.

5. Keywords In Style Tags
Very few search engines index the content of

6. Link Farms And Link Exchange Programs
Search engines consider link farms and link exchange programs as spam, as they have only one purpose - to artificially inflate a site's link popularity, by exchanging links with other participants. Do not confuse link farms and link exchange programs with reciprocal linking. Reciprocal linking is the exchange of links with individual sites, and certainly an accepted technique for improving your site's link popularity.

7. Links Only Pages
I recommend adding text descriptions to link pages and site maps. Some search engines, such as AltaVista, have been known to kick out links only pages.

8. Meta Refresh Tags
In general, meta refresh tags set for under 30 seconds are considered as spam by search engines. As such, most search engine optimizers use JavaScript redirects.Having said that, I recently read an article that said the Fast and Inktomi search engines recommend using meta refresh tags, instead of JavaScript redirects. Are you confused? I certainly am!So to be on the safe side, I suggest sticking with JavaScript redirects, until there is conclusive proof that search engines accept meta refresh tags.

9. Tiny Text
Many of the major search engines consider tiny text (i.e. font size 1) as spam. Some use of tiny text is fine. Search engines don't like web pages that use a lot of tiny text. The reason is because some webmasters have used it to fool search engines by "hiding" dozens of keywords in a web page.

Cloaking is the practice of serving search engine optimized pages to search engine spiders, while at the same time serving un-optimized pages to site visitors.Cloaking is one of the most controversial strategies in search engine optimization. Major search engines publicly state that they consider all cloaking to be spam. However, many professional search engine optimizers have been using cloaking for years, with much success.
Until there is conclusive proof that search engines do indeed ban sites that use cloaking, I suggest you take care if you decide to use cloaking. If you want more in-depth information on these and other search engine optimization strategies, read my Search Engine Optimization Guide.

Conclusion
There are many controversial search engine optimization techniques. There are people who despise the use of certain techniques, such as cloaking. But the fact of the matter is that there are no right or wrong ways to optimize a web page. What might be considered as spam by one search engine may be accepted by another. What works today may be banned tomorrow. The art and science of marketing is about testing to see what works and what doesn't. I recommend taking the same approach with search engine optimization. After all, it is just another form of marketing. You may also like to read my article, "Seven Illegal Search Engine Optimization Techniques." In this article I discuss seven illegal, or almost illegal, search engine optimization and related techniques.

Tips To Writing Effective Google AdWords Ads

10:27 AM

(0) Comments

In this article I show you my top twelve tips for creating effective Google AdWords ads.I've been testing the Google pay per click advertising system for a while, with much success. These tips will help you create ads that generate higher click through rates, and lower cost per click.
1. Target The Right Audience
Target the right audience by selecting the language and countries that you want to target. For example, I exclude all countries where English is not understood by a large percentage of the population.

2. Refine Your Keywords
Use square brackets "[...]" around your keyword/s.
For example:
[google]
[google adwords]
Your ad will only show when the search is for the exact keyword phrase you have included within the brackets. The ad will not show for searches that include other keywords. In our example, this would be for searches such as "google search," or "google news."

3. Test Multiple Ads Simultaneously
Always test 2 (or more) ads simultaneously. This is what is known in the print industry as an A/B split test.Find out which one produces the higher click through ratio. Then replace the weaker performing ad with a new one.Continue this process in your never-ending quest to get the highest click through ratio possible.

4. Track The Return-On-Investment Of Each Ad
Google tracks the click through ratio of each ad. But it doesn't track the conversion ratio.
Use a special tracking link in each ad to track its conversion ratio. For example, you could attach each ad with an affiliate tracking system link. Make sure each ad produces a return-on-investment.

5. Include Targeted Keywords In Your Ad
Include the targeted keywords in the headline and the description of the ad. Google will highlight searched keywords in bold in the ad.When people scan search results, they look for the keywords they have entered. Searched keywords highlighted in bold certainly help to catch the user's attention. For this reason, ads with searched keywords usually perform better than ones without.

6. Sell The Benefits
Spell out one or more major benefit in your ad. For example, make more money, stay younger looking, lose weight, get healthier, live happier, etc.

7. Include Attention Grabbing Words In Your Ad
Start your headline with an attention grabbing word. For example, "Free:, New:, Sale:, etc." Make sure you stay within Google's editorial guidelines.

8. Use Words That Provoke Emotion & Enthusiasm
Use power words or call-to-action phrases that provoke emotion, enthusiasm and a response.
Here are some examples of power words:
free, cheap, sale, special offer, time limited offer, tricks, you, tips, enhance, discover, fact, learn, at last, free shipping, etc.
Here are some examples of call-to-action phrases:
* Buy Today - Save 50%
* Download Free Trial Now
* Sale Ends Tomorrow
Make sure the phrase specific to your business, otherwise Google may reject the phrase.
9. Sell Your USP (Unique Selling Proposition)
What makes your product or service better, or different, from the competition? Spell them out in your ad.
For example, one of Amazon.com's first taglines was "Earth's Biggest Bookstore." That's a powerful USP!
10. Link To Relevant Landing Pages
If an ad is for a specific product or service, create a landing page for the ad. Include relevant and useful information to convert the customer. Generally, a well designed landing page will almost always convert more visitors than if you simply sent the visitor to the home page.

11. Remove Common Words
Remove common words, such as "a, an, in, on, it, of, etc." Remove every word that does not absolutely need to be in the ad. Make every word count.

12. Deter Freebie Hunters
Deter freebie hunters by including the price of the product or service at the end of the ad. This will improve your overall conversion ratio and lower your average customer acquisition cost.
This may reduce your click through ratio, but that's OK. After all, you're not trying to target every body, only potential customers. In most cases, freebie hunters will never become paying customers.

Conclusion
Remember that advertising is a never-ending series of tests. Always track your ads. Never stop testing different keywords and ads to improve your conversion ratio and lower your customer acquisition cost.Advertising in the Google AdWords advertising system works. It may not necessarily produce as many visitors as Overture, but the click through cost is usually lower.

Today the Internet is highly competitive, it is not longer good enough to just create a website and watch the money roll in. Modern websites have to go that extra mile if they want to see a good return on their investment. I will discuss the 10 things that you need to get right to be successful in the world of ecommerce. You could fill several volumes of books describing everything; however, I am going to discuss the more important ones.

1. First things first, you must do your research and make sure what you are planning to sell is actually in demand. If your product is already being sold online try and offer a new spin on products that you know that already sell well.

2. Content is king, you website must have good original content that people will want to read.

3. Your web copywriting must be of a high standard. You must grab the reader's attention then give them the desire to buy your product. You then must give them a call to action and then you must offer customer satisfaction.

4. Accessibility, you have to make your website as accessible as it can be. The internet should be accessible to everyone regardless of their handicap.

5. Test your website; too many online companies never test their websites to see what works and what doesn't. I strongly believe that you can't improve a website if you can't track it. A good tip here would be to use Google's website optimiser. This free service lets you test different elements of your website.

6. Keep in contact with your customers, send out a newsletter at least once a month to keep in contact and inform your customers of any special offers.

7. Use Google analytics to track your visitor's behaviours. This is an excellent tool for tracking what people do on your website and what they don't. This is invaluable information and it's free.

8. If your budget permits start a pay per click campaign to sell you products while you're waiting on your SEO taking effect. More on SEO on a moment.

9. Get some SEO services from a company that knows what they are doing, this will save time and money in the long term.

10. Hire a website design company to design your website professionally.

Generate Enormous Website Traffic Using Only Free Methods

2:51 AM

(0) Comments

Putting up a company would of course require a lot of things, to get straight to the point, you need a capital. To make money requires money as well. But of course, with the versatility the internet offers, there are many ways you could find that could help optimize the potential of your site or business in generating traffic.

While there are ways to jumpstart your traffic flows, many sites don’t have the resources that others have to generate more traffic for your site. Well, you don’t have to spend a cent; all you need is the proper mindset and a lot of eagerness. You also must have the drive and perseverance to do hard work and research to generate more traffic for your site.

How sweet it is to have more traffic for your site without spending a single cent. Now it’s a sure thing that many sites have articles that offer tips and guidelines in how to generate traffic using only free methods. Because it is possible, you don’t need to speed a single cent, it may take time, to say honestly, I’m not going to beat around the bush with you. You get better chances by paying for your advertisements, but at least you get a fighting chance with some of these free methods I’m about to tell you.

Take advantage of online forums and online communities. The great thing about forums and online communities is that you can target a certain group that fits the certain demographic that you are looking for. You can discuss about lots of things about the niche that you represent or offer. Another great advantage is that you know what you are getting into and you will be prepared.

With online communities and forums you can build a reputation for your company. Show them what you are made of and wow them with your range of expertise about the subject, with that you can build a reputation and build trust with the people in your expertise and knowledge.

You can also make use of newsletters. Provide people with a catalog of your products and interesting and entertaining articles. If you make it really interesting and entertaining, more people will sign up for your newsletter and recommend it to other people. The more people who signs up for your newsletter, the more people there will be that will go to your site increasing your traffic.

Another great idea is trading links with other sites. You don’t have to spend a cent. All you have to do is reach an agreement with another webmaster. With exchanging links, the efforts both sites do will benefit both sites. Every traffic that goes to the site could potentially click on the link of your site and visit your site as well. This works well especially when both sites feature the same niche.

Write articles that could pique the attention of people that have interest in your product. Try writing articles that will provide tips and guides to other aficionados. Writing articles that provide good service and knowledge to other people would provide the necessary mileage your traffic flow needs.

Newbies For SEO Content Distribution Linking

2:43 AM

(0) Comments

The new buzz on the internet is all about getting one-way links by distributing content to other sites in exchange for backlines. As with every other SEO or website promotion technique ever devised, there are plenty of newbie myths about it that can ruin your chance for success before you even start.

Newbie Myth 1: The "Duplicate content penalty."

Some webmasters worry that if the content on their sites is suddenly on hundreds of other sites, search engines will inflict a "duplicate content penalty." Why is this concern unjustified?

* If this were true, every major newspaper and news portal website would now be de-indexed from the search engines, since they all carry "duplicate content" from the news wires such as

Reuters and the Associated Press.

* Thousands of self-promoting internet gurus has proven that distributing content is an effective method of improving search engine rank.

* Even more thousands of content websites have proven that republishing this content does not carry any search engine penalty.

True, the first website to publish an article often seems to be favored by search engines, ranking higher for the same content in searches than higher-Page Rank pages with the same content. But the "duplicate" pages do show up in the search engine results, even if lower than the original site. Meanwhile, the reprint content has no effect on the ranking of a site's other pages.

The only duplicate content penalty is for duplication of content across pages of a single website. Meanwhile, there is a sort of "copyright theft" penalty, whereby someone who copies content without permission can be manually removed from search engine indexes out of respect for the Digital Millennium Copyright Act. But that penalty is only for flagrant theft, not minor mistakes in attributing reprint content.

Newbie Myth 2: The goal is to get in article clearinghouse websites.

There are over 100 popular, high-traffic websites that act as clearinghouses for content made available for redistribution. These websites include isnare.com, amazines.com, and goarticles.com.

Many novice content-distributors are upset when the article clearinghouse websites, with tens of thousands of articles each with a backline, pass negligible Page Rank. But the point of distributing content to those websites is for other website owners to find your content and put it on their websites--not to get a backline directly from the clearinghouse website (though this is sometimes an unexpected bonus).

Plus, to maximize Page Rank-passing links, you also have to submit articles to website owners individually. It's not a small amount of work. But there's no substitute for a polite, individually crafted email recommending a website owner complement his or her existing articles with one you've written.

Myth 3: Any content will do.

Reality: It should be obvious that many website owners, jealous of their link popularity, will only republish exceptionally high - quality content. For articles, this means a unique point of view and solid information that cannot be found just anywhere, ideally presented in compelling language in a web-optimized format by a professional published writer. You can conduct a content distribution campaign with bad content, but you'll be handicapping yourself from the start.

Myth 4: Distributing content is easy. Just hit "send."

Reality: Content distribution campaign requires skillful planning to target publisher websites effectively.

This is essentially a four-step process.

1. You must identify the categories of websites most likely to republish your articles. These categories range from the very broad, such as internet, business, and family, and can go as narrow as family-friendly internet businesses.

It's a careful balance: you need to make your target category narrowly relevant to maximize the value of the link and your chances of getting your article accepted for publication. But if you target too narrow a category, you'll lower the maximum number of links you can hope to get.

For instance, a website on web content writing has to target its content distribution to more than just sites focusing on web content. There are only so many websites devoted to web content as a topic of interest, and besides, many such websites would be competitors. Distribution should target broadly relevant categories, such as web design, webmaster issues, writing, marketing, business, website promotion, and SEO. Yet some broadly related categories, such as internet or publishing, are not relevant enough to yield good results.

2. To maximize success, you must have articles custom-created for each major category you want to submit to. "Incorporating Content in Web Design" and "Marketing with Content" would be possible titles for a web content-writing website owner targeting web design and marketing websites, respectively. An article about web design won't appeal as strongly to marketers, or vice versa, so simply submitting to websites having to do with "the web" would not be as effective.

3. For maximum success, articles custom-written for a category then often have to be refined for sub-categories. For instance, "Incorporating Content in Web Design" becomes "Incorporating Content into Flash Web Design," or "Incorporating Content into Accessible Web Design." Sometimes the refinement is just a "find and replace" of one keyword for another, sometimes just in the title. Sometimes, entire paragraphs have to reworded or removed.

4. Once you've identified sub-categories of websites, you still have to be able to meet the requirements of individual websites. Some sites only publish articles up to 500 words, some only do how-to articles. Owners of high-ranking websites can afford to be choosey. To really maximize results within a sub-category, you need at least three different articles of varying lengths and focus specifically geared toward that sub-category.

In the end, distributing content for website promotion and inbound links is a marvelously effective way of promoting a website. But it's not magic beans. Like anything else having to do with achieving success on the web, it takes hard work and knowledge to be successful

Melihat asal Pengunjung Blog Dengan Google Analytics

1:10 AM

(0) Comments

On (jangan marah ya dikatakan o'on) pasti belum tahu atao tahu tapi dikit. Nha.. disini akan coba saya terangkan tentang Google Analytics. Simaklah dengan cermat penjelasan berikut ini:

deng..deng..deng..
  • dengan cara apa mereka datang, misalnya naik angkot ato jalan kaki (maksudnya lewat search engine, lewat situs orang lain atao langsung datang mak pedunduk).
  • dari negara mana mereka datang
  • dari kota mana
  • umurnya berapa
  • anaknya siapa
  • sudah punya pacar apa belum
  • ortunya galak ga, dll

NB: Tiga poin terakhir bo'ong.

Nah, pengen gak tuh? kalo pengen daftar disini http://google.com/analytics
